John Rinaldi on Stephen Sondheim
"My parents were huge musical-theater fans, and took me to see everything they could when I was a kid. I was enthralled by local productions of "West Side Story", "Company" and "Pacific Overtures" all before I hit 6th grade. Then, on a trip to NY when I was 12, my mother *insisted* (above all my protestations) that we see the original production of "Sweeney Todd". That night changed my life forever, blew my mind, and made me a lifelong fan of the theater, and of course, of your work. I'm a singer and actor these days, and your music and lyrics are as delicious to perform as they are to hear. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for enriching my life." -- John Rinaldi as posted on Facebook
