"Billy Elliot" arrives at the Imperial Theatre

Margaret Thatcher is parodied in "Merry Christmas, Maggie Thatcher," a number in "Billy Elliot." It is the story of a working-class boy from Northeast England who, amid the backdrop of a miner's strike, dreams of becoming a ballet dancer. Elton John has created the music; Stephen Daldry who directed the film, stages the musical.

Wantagh's Trent Kowalik shares the title role in "Billy Elliot," alternating performances with two other young actors in the story of a working-class boy from Northeast England.
