Curtain about to rise at Santa Monica College's new performing arts center

The Broad Stage -- named for donors Eli and Edythe Broad -- was designed with acoustics and intimacy in mind, giving each of the 499 seats a clear view of the stage. The smaller Edye Second Space is intended to serve as a laboratory for “mad talent and creative experiment.”
