The flightless birds arrive from the Antarctic Circle on ice floes that melt in the vicinity of Brazil's shore, and they wash up on Rio beaches every winter. Brazil's air force and navy soon will transport to Antarctica more than 100 penguins that were stranded on Rio de Janeiro beaches.
