The CN Tower (Canada’s National Tower or Canadian National Tower) is the tallest tower and freestanding structure in the world. Built in 1976, it is the most famous and visible landmark in Toronto, if not in Canada. Standing at 553 metres (1815+ feet) high, one can climb 1,776 metal steps to the top of the Sky Pod, 146 stories above ground. The tower features a revolving restaurant, the 360 Restaurant, as well as 1,160 square metre (12,500 square foot) Marketplace located at the foot of the tower. The main pod of the tower has a section of glass floor, where the over 2 millions people that visit the tower per year, can look directly down at the ground 113 stories below them.
