On this day in 1975 Fred Lynn of the Boston Red Sox had one of the greatest days in major-league baseball history. Lynn contributed 10 runs, 16 total bases on three home runs, a triple and a single in a game against the Detroit Tigers. The Red Sox won the game 15-1.
