Macaulay Culkin is home alone
The awesome, hugenormous house from Home Alone just went up for sale, and it can be yours for a cool $2.4 million. There's probably room to negotiate down to $2.3 mil, though, so don't sweat it.
The red brick McMansion is located near Lake Michigan in the posh neighborhood of Winnetka, just north enough of Chicago to be free of ethnics. The owners paid a scant $875,000 for it in 1988. The price surely skyrocketed in 1990 when everyone found out how awesome the stairs were for sliding down.
The house is 4,250 square feet on a half-acre. Its 14 rooms include 4 bathrooms and 3.2 baths (no, I don't know what the hell that means either) and a large screened-in porch with a chandelier. A porch with a chandelier? That's balling.
You can find out more about the house at the Coldwell Banker dedicated site, which includes a video tour of the house you'll never be able to get inside--no open houses with this sale, you'll need to be pre-qualified to buy before setting foot in the mecha-crib.
