Seaside Lagoon gets another reprieve
Swimmers, ready the bathing suits: Seaside Lagoon will be open this summer.
In a Feb. 24 letter, the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board accepted Redondo Beach's request for a reprieve from certain water testing requirements at the sandy-bottom lagoon. City staff calculated the cost of the testing at $50,000 - a figure City Council members have deemed too costly.
"Some of the things that need to be worked out have been pushed off to 2012," City Manager Bill Workman explained Tuesday night to the council.
