Monroe as "ART"
Blond and beautiful, renowned for her naiveté as much as for her sensuality, Marilyn Monroe continues to fascinate. A sparkling tribute called "Marilyn Monroe: Life as a Legend" runs through June 24 at the Dayton Art Institute in Dayton, Ohio. The collection features nearly 250 photographs, prints, paintings, videos and sculptures from such artists as Andy Warhol and Richard Avedon. The photo above is by Milton Greene. The institute also is presenting a one-woman play, "Marilyn Monroe: Forever Blonde," which author Greg Thompson created from her own words. Info: (937) 223-5277, http://www.daytonartinstitute.org .
