On this day in 1937 Tris Speaker, Cy Young and Nap Lajoie were elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in the second year of voting.

On this day in 1972 Sandy Koufax of the Los Angeles Dodgers became the youngest player ever to be elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame at age 36.
