WHATEVER HAPPENED TO HONOR ??
An old joke in Mexico held that the United Nations ranked Mexico the fifth-most corrupt nation on Earth only because the Mexican government had paid a bribe not to top the list. Transparency International, a respected nongovernmental organization, annually ranks countries from least corrupt to most, based on the perceptions of business people and analysts. Mexico is currently ranked 65th cleanest nation out of 159 surveyed. The United States is 17th and the cleanest nations on Earth are Iceland, Finland, New Zealand, Denmark and Singapore. Those perceived to be afflicted with the most severe corruption are Chad, Bangladesh, Turkmenistan, Myanmar and Haiti.
